Last Man Standing will stay upright for another season.
ABC has ordered a sixth season of the family comedy that stars Tim Allen, Nancy Travis, and Hector Elizondo. The sitcom averaged nearly 8 million viewers and a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 this season.
The network also picked up a new comedy called Speechless, which stars Minnie Driver as a mom on a mission who will do anything for her husband Jimmy, her kids Ray, Dylan, and JJ, her eldest son with special needs. It’s from Scott Silveri (Friends) and also stars John Ross Bowie (The Big Bang Theory).
On Thursday, ABC canceled The Muppets but renewed Dr. Ken and The Real O’Neals.
ABC will present its fall lineup to advertisers Tuesday in New York (see teasers for the new ABC shows here).
