Bones fans will have to wait longer for the show’s final season.
Just days after announcing its fall schedule to advertisers, Fox has decided to revise its lineup.
Instead of the 12th and final season of Bones airing on Thursdays this fall, the network’s new baseball drama Pitch– originally planned for midseason – is stepping up to the plate.
Bones will now return in early 2017 (likely January, as that’s when Fox’s winter dramas typically launch).
Also, the revival of Prison Break– originally announced for Thursdays at 9 in next spring – will air Tuesdays at 9 instead.
Pitch is from executive producer Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love) and stars Kylie Bunbury (Under the Dome) as the first woman to play Major League Baseball. Pitch is arguably a good fit for Fox’s fall since the broadcaster also airs the World Series and could presumably use the games to help promote its freshman baseball drama.
Here’s the full fall TV schedule, with trailers.
