Rob Corddry is back in business with Adult Swim.
The network announced on Wednesday that it has ordered a comedy pilot about the Hindenburg disaster from the Childrens Hospital creator/star. Titled The Hindenburg Explodes!, the prospective quarter-hour, live-action series will chronicle the “unusual” crew and passengers of the doomed Hindenburg zeppelin, which, in 1937, flew from Nazi Germany to New Jersey, where it burst into flames in the sky before it could land, killing several dozen people.
Corddry, who stars in HBO’s Ballers, is creating The Hindenburg Explodes! with Jonathan Stern (who also lorded over Childrens Hospital with Corddry) and Josh Perilo (Wedlock).
Childrens Hospital concluded its seven-season run last month, though Corddry has left open the door for a reunion.
